The New Sun City Million Dollar Poker Championship
The final table of nine players sat down to battle it out for the title of the Sun City Million Dollar Poker Champion. One player survived all the other players and walked away with the first prize and to be crowned the Sun City Million Dollar Poker Champion. That player is the All Africa Poker Channel Commentator Ryan Dreyer.
Ryan said," I went into the Tournament mentally prepared and my main goal was to stay focused and hang in there." By the 3rd day of the Tournament it was down to 53 players and Ryan just wanted to make it through to the final table and better his sixth place position in 2007. On day four it was down to the final table and players that Ryan knows very well from either player against them previously or from commentating tournaments went up against him. The Final table included regulars seen on the All Africa Poker Channel such as Durand Botha, Damien Cornelli, Ryan Dreyer and Stanley Topol.
The final round consisted of Ryans 7 and 8 of Hearts against Dermotts 7 of Queen off suit. The turn was a JC which lead to Dermot moving all-in, Ryan called immediately. The river was irrelevant and Dermot had to settle for runner-up while Ryan Dreyer walked away with the title. Dermot had been a runner-up previously at an All Africa Poker Tournament in November 2006, when he went up against Ryan Eber.
