Raymond Rahme came 3rd last year at the World Series of Poker 2007 where 6 358 poker players took part in. He walked away with R3 000 000 at the WSOP 2007, two days later played at Gold Reef City where he came first and 3 weeks after that he won at Emperors Palace.
He won the All Africa Poker Tournament which was held at Piggs Peak Casino in Swaziland recently and won the 1 Million Rand first prize. He has always been a good poker player but only in the past two years has he player poker seriously. At the age of 60 he decided to retire and that's when he started playing poker Online. He won himself a place at the Piggs Peak Hotel and Casino in Swaziland and there he won himself a package to play at the Las Vegas world series 2007 and that's where it all began for Ray Rahme. There are different types of poker all with different rules etc, but Ray specialises in Texas Hold 'em where anywhere from 6 to 10 people can play. "Its a complicated game and anyone who doesn't know poker shouldn't put money on it," says Rahme, "I have been playing poker for years and years and my secret is that i am always in control. I play with my pocket and not with my head, if my money is finished then i stop playing, end of story."
The easiest way to make money is to earn it! Nowadays he doesn't play for the money anymore, he just plays for the challenge. "I play the game with self confidence and I'm not scared to loose, to tell you the truth there is no poker player that I am scared of."
